Persian History

Persians originate from Iran(know as Persia), and the countries surrounding Iran. Perisians became know within the sixteenth century, during their establishment, they spread to Europe where they became popular to keep ships free of mice, and became a useful tool, rather than a pet. Their long coats are probably due to the environment of the colder regions of Turkey and Iran. Persians unique appearance made them popular, especially with wealthily families, even today, persians are known as a sign of wealth throughout the world.

Persians were also popular with authoritive people, even the King of Persia owned a persian, they were prized for their long coats, and great temperament. After being introduced to Europe, they were finally introduced to North America around the 19th century, where they have become popular.

Due to the vast amount of colors and type of persians, they have been divided into different divisions, below is a list of some of these.
